The Mengs – Lynchburg Family Photographer

Oh the precious Mengs! If you’ve been reading for a while you’ll already know Brittany and how we were roommates in college and that she and Aaron were my very first wedding. You’ll remember her being my first baby bump photos and these precious photos of her twin boys from way back when, and then from a little later than that! We took some new photos this Fall and it’s just amazing to watch these boys grow. Enjoy just a few shots from our fast paced and chilly session!

Paul and Jenny – Savannah Engagement Photographer

Jenny and Paul, what can we say about Jenny and Paul. I’ve known Jenny for nearly a decade and in that time we’ve taken over a thousand pictures together. Typically with much eye rolling and complaining on her part. Admittedly, I’m a little obnoxious about pictures of my family and friends, but STILL! I was thrilled when she and Paul asked us to be their engagement and wedding photographers. The session went on with lots of laughing, crazy facial expressions and promises of “just a few more shots.” These are some of my favorite images from their engagement session in the Carolina pines!

As I get older I begin to understand how valuable it is to have all of your family in one place. I was thrilled with the Phillips family contacted me because they knew their crew would all be together and they wanted to honor their parents with beautiful family photos to celebrate the occasion! I think we came out with a few framers from the bunch!

Years ago, when S. Carter Studios had barely formed, Stephanie and Joshua asked me to do a session for them. I still distinctly remember being so nervous! Fast forward to Law School bringing them back to Lynchburg and the happy news that they were expecting. We all agreed they needed a last few pictures as just a family of two so we returned to the same place we’d gone on our first session! They have a natural, sweet way around each other and it made my job quite easy!

Stephanie looked fabulous. Seriously, baby William could have come any day when we were taking these pictures!

This one is my favorite.

Then fast forward a few more months and the Masts asked me to take some new photos of their family of three! It was a very cold day and William had his game face on. I think he’s just practicing modeling!

and, just because I think it’s an awesome picture I want to brag on Stephanie for a minute! She took this great photo of her sweet boy!

The Barnhouses – Lynchburg Family Photographer

Do you remember this face? His precious toothy grin and bright blonde hair coupled with his giggles and super fast running skills made our mini session quite an adventure. He has photographers lining up to take his pictures, so glad we could get in on the action! Here’s a little then & now action.

I think we can also see a point here for why you should have regular portraits done of your little ones! They grow so very fast!

And a call for parents to be in photos with their children! They want to remember you at that time too! I can promise firsthand that their children will cherish it as well!

I hope to be a part of many more of these family photos!

Oh those Copenhavers. Three years after our first family photo session we reconnected with the Copenhavers and their family of four! Don’t they just look like a postcard family! Thanks for letting us be a part of preserving this time in your family!

This family has been in my life for almost a decade and they finally agreed to let me photograph them and as it turns out it had been over 7 years without a family photo. Those are some important years. I’m glad they didn’t wait any longer!

Ruth & Dakota – Freedom 4/24 Giveaway Session Lynchburg Photographer

Last year several local photographers donated sessions to Freedom 4/24 to give to participants who donated $24 toward a ministry to street women in Thailand. When I heard about the opportunity I was eager to donate as my heart has been connected to Thailand and it’s people for quite some time. If you’d like to hear more about this opportunity watch the video below!

A funny thing happened when I was told who had won my session…I actually knew the couple! I had taken their engagement photos early in my career. It was great to reconnect with them and hear about what’s been going on in the past few years.

Hinds Family – Lynchburg Family Photographer

The last time this blog saw the Hinds Olivia was just a few months old. Now she is big sister to little Lincoln who will turn one this Fall! It was great to get to shoot with them again, Olivia’s smiles were bountiful and Lincoln made us earn it. I loved how the photos turned out and was so glad to be a part of celebrating this time in their lives!
