July 2nd, 2010WeddingYes, it’s time for another rendition of Brasil team love-a-thon! First it was: Kyle, Julie, Naomi, Collin, Travis & David: now part 2 of Julie and Stephen! I met Julie on that trip and loved seeing her smiling face, especially when she was talking about Stephen. Even then, I think we all assumed they would get married. And I was thrilled when she called to tell me she wanted me to be there to celebrate with her! They couldn’t have picked a more beautiful location than The Inn at Kelly’s Ford was breathtaking and though the rain ruined our fun a little it provided some gorgeous clouds and cooled things off! I think the (many) images speak for themselves so enjoy a little bit of the Cinderella-esque wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Boice!

Such bold and vibrant colors were a dream to shoot!

Classic Julie wasn’t so bad either, lol.

aaanddd…more detail lovin

Love the engagement photo guest book!

So, the truth is that we faced some very ugly flood-like rainstorms during this crazy day. Inbetween two big storms we had a ceremony, well part of one, but I’d have to say that it was totally worth it!

One of the best reactions I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of!

Totally worth it for THIS entrance!

inbetween these two pictures it rained, a lot, and so we moved things inside, and in the end they were just as married as they would have been if we’d stayed outside. Plus, look at those faces!

a brief carriage ride for the newlyweds

Loved those moody skies!

My absolute favorite from the whole day

A great meal was served, toasts, cake AND dancing! Lots of hilarious dancing.

See, they agreed that the dancing was hilarious.

I snuck them out for a few more pictures and then they had a beautiful escape and traveled the whole 50 yards to their honeymoon silo!

It was brilliant and beautiful. I’m so glad I could be there!

June 29th, 2009WeddingJon and Lindsay are the kind of couple that really feels like they were created to be together. It’s as natural to see them holding hands and smiling their big Crest-kids smiles as it is to see a golf ball drop in to the cup at putt putt or the last piece of a puzzle to be pressed into place. It just feels right! I got a glimpse of this at their engagement shoot last fall but it was even more apparent Saturday as they were married in a beautiful little garden on one of the most beautiful evenings anyone could ask for in June. God is up to something very special with these two and I’m so thankful that I could play a role in the process as their wedding photographer! Enjoy a few photos from their wonderful wedding.
Lindsay, who could body double for a little Barbie doll, was absolutely radiant!
Jon and Lindsay had a First Look which allowed us lots of time to take photographs in and around their fabulous location, The Maridor in Roanoke, VA.
The ceremony took place outside in the garden under a beautiful pool of golden light and the shade of ivy colored trees!
One of my favorite things about the reception was that there were several stations where guests were asked to write a note to Jon and Lindsay. I can only imagine how much joy this will bring them and their families for years as they read these notes!
They hoped for dancing and oh, boy did they get some dancing! What a treat to see their families celebrate and enjoy everything as much as they were!
And just as quick as that, it was over! They left in a flurry of white rose petals and were headed to their honeymoon in Hilton Head, SC, which I think is a fabulous place for a honeymoon!

June 23rd, 2009WeddingI am having trouble figuring out how to start this post. Should I flash back to meeting Justina, Josh’s sister, and taking her wedding pictures when Josh and Michelle were just beginning their relationship? Should I talk about the way Michelle kept telling all of her bridesmaids how beautiful they were in the dresses her mother made for them? Should I rave on and on about the AMAZING location and stunning Sunday afternoon after a week of rain and bad weather? I’m not sure what’s best to start with but I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of these families for the weekend. The Wyckoff’s are a wonderful bunch that I was glad to be reunited with and the Lusts are so welcoming and fun! I hope you enjoy the pictures from their perfect garden wedding!
Michelle and Josh opted for a First Look so we had an hour and a half to wonder around this gorgeous location and take pictures until we couldn’t think of any more pictures to take!
One of my favorite parts…the bike! Josh rented it for them to ride out on. I couldn’t get over it. neither could anyone else!
The ceremony took place in the middle of a field on the grounds. The perfect setting for the beautifully simple ceremony Josh and Michelle had planned.
Their parents came and prayed with them after they said their vows.
Just like that, a moment a year in the making! [ This is the perfect place to point out the Ivy coming out of the bottom of Michelle's bouquet. This ivy was cut from the tomb of the unknown soldiers in Arlington cemetery by Michelle's great grandmother. She buried her husband and her son there and brought this ivy home with her. Since then it has been in the wedding bouquets of Michelle's grand mother, aunt and mother. She carried on the tradition by having the ivy in her bouquet and in the boutoniers. They also planted it in little hand painted pots for guests to take home with them! ]
I loved that their first dance was to the song “Until you” by Dave Barnes. I may or may not have sung along the whole time.
The exit was one that legends are made of. Exit bride and groom on amazing Harley amidst a flurry of rice!
Congratulations my friends. I’m so glad that I could be a part of your day!
