Meredith’s family has been a part of the Pepsi corp for several generations so we incorporated classic Pepsi paraphernalia into their session!

It was a great session, hopefully next time they’ll bring their sweet puppy with them too! I so enjoyed the beautiful Christmas card they sent featuring one of the images as well. That’s one of the best perks of my job!

So, because I’m sick, on the couch, again, I thought it would be fun to come up with the top 5 reasons you should attend Bliss!

#5 – Personal interaction – As a bride, I avoided large wedding shows because I felt they were overwhelming. As a vendor, I don’t sign up for large wedding shows because I feel like I’m at a meat market. I don’t want someone to feel obligated to say hello when they are really tired and just want door prizes. I want to meet brides and hear about their plans and encourage them by helping provide info on my services and the services of other vendors! Bliss is going to provide a chance to see each Vendors space and then to hear from them in sessions, eat lunch with them and really get to hear who they are, not just what they do.

#4 – Dessert Reception – The ladies of Love Is In The Air know their way around the kitchen and they’ve yet to let me down with their treats! I know this is going to be a fun time for brides to continue to mingle with vendors and even friends they’ve made during the day!

#3- Practical Advice – Brides will have the opportunity to hear great advice from people who literally know this industry like it’s their job! I love being able to share ideas from the weddings I’ve been to. Typically, brides are planning their first major event and don’t know where to start! The HCB vendors are going to give great, practical information on how to organize, throw and preserve the event of a life time!

#2 – Freebies. Jennifer, the lovely lady behind Hill City Bride, has lined up a fantastic group of door prizes for the attendees including a free 5 night Arube honeymoon! I mean, really? That’s a no brainer.

I would also like to mention to you fellow photographers that this was our first opportunity to really play with off camera lighting, it was a TON of fun. The little system we had was two pocket wizard tranceivers, one on my camera and the other on a Canon  flash.

Who knew the golden hour could happen around 10 pm?!

The sun began to set, eventually (again thankful for the off camera lighting to pull this shot off) and it was glorious but didn’t put a stop to our session!

These final few were taken AFTER the ones above! Just incredible, literally at the end of the session I put down my camera and practically fell asleep. You can only handle so much amazing-ness in the same few hours!

I should note that Jenna and I have been friends for going on 8 years. She’s the kind of girl who walks barefoot through the grass, moves places in the house to find a sunbeam on a cold day and the kind that has always dreamed of being held close by the man she loves in a field of amazing wild flowers.  This photograph is the culmination of so many wonderful things!

Lane is an extremely lucky guy and we didn’t even have to tell him. He clearly knew already.

I can just see this in a frame and their children look at it years from now thinking, wow, my mother is so beautiful! My parents really have something special.

Between lots of laughing & comments about hairspray we talked about our families, challenges of married life and what we hoped God would do with our lives. It was like being with old friends! So, please feast your eyes on S. Carter Studios first ever sunrise engagement session! Seriously, leave them some love for being this good looking at 6:30 am.

If you found yourself driving over the overpass into Lynchburg and wondering who those crazy people on the side of the road were taking pictures, well, proudly I’ll answer, it was US. I think they’d agree it was totally worth it.

After a quick outfit change (which was clever to pull off at 7:30 am in Lynchburg) we were back in action at a more relaxed location.
