Celebrating the beginning…

A very special post today for my friends Brittany and Aaron on their three year anniversary. Brittany and Aaron were the bride and groom at my very first wedding, ever! They asked me to take their pictures and I think they had more confidence in me than I did in myself! This was a very special wedding as I was both a bridesmaid and the photographer. Something I haven’t attempted again, lol. You can see me, well, me + 50 more lbs, in one of the group shots if you look carefully. I hope you enjoy this post, back to my roots, about 40 weddings ago! It was one of the most beautiful, simply executed May weddings imaginable. Love you guys!

We did most of their photography at the mansion at Liberty University and we happened to bump into Reverend Jerry Falwell, Sr. He just happened to be wearing a shirt that corresponded with the wedding colors!

::Epilogue::

Brittany and Aaron had not one but two little surprises as they found out they were pregnant with twins about 7 months after they were married! So my first wedding couple became my first maternity couple!

Benjamin and Micah joined the crew in October of 2007.

We’re hoping to get some more recent photos of them soon. In the mean time here is a most recent update. Brittany, Candace (fellow Bridesmaid at Brittany and Aaron’s wedding) and I at my wedding!

Thanks for taking a chance on me. Happy Anniversary to S. Carter Studios and The Mengs!

In celebration of our anniversary we’d like to offer a contest. The winner of this contest will win a 30 minute session or a $15.00 Starbucks gift cart if you can’t make it to Lynchburg for a shoot! To be entered to win, leave a comment on this post about your favorite birthday or wedding anniversary memory. The winner will be chosen at random and will be announced on Thursday May 28th, (which is coincidently my friend Alex’s birthday!)

My favorite wedding memory was getting dressed and getting ready with my girls. We had so much fun and we took lots of cute bridesmaid pics while we were doing make-up. The candid shots can be the best ones sometimes. :)

My favorite anniversary memory is our trip we took to Williamsburg last year for our 2 year anniversary. We knew we were expecting a baby, and it would be our last anniversary as just a couple, so we really got to enjoy just being together. Tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary! :)

My favorite birthday memory was when we were dating and my husband left me for the night, not to long after he came to see me that day. My dad had told me to pick a place to eat out. I was just so upset and disappointed that I was not interested in going anywhere. My dad had to pick up my mom at church and he had told me to run in to get her. When I ran in, all of a sudden the lights came on and all of his family and my family said “surprise…happy birthday”. It was a time that I will never forget.

My favorite anniversay moment was my first anniversary with Gavin. Although I was in France, he found a fun way to celebrate. He sent me over 40 letters of all different shapes, sizes, etc. that filled my mailbox to the brim! :) The idea was adorable, but the content of what he sent was even better. Oh AND he had my roommate get me flowers!! I LOVE him!

My favorite memory is how GOD intertwined our family. My husband I and married 12 yrs. ago. I had been married before and had 2 kids. He took them as his own. We went on to have 3 more kids. Our daughter Ellie was born on our son Danny’s 15th birthday and even weighed the same thing. Our grandson Syrus was born 2 mos. almost to the day as Ellie our youngest. So GOD tied our family together nicely!! On June 2 Danny will turn 19 and Ellie will turn 4. Thank you LORD!!

My hubby Ryan was in Drill Sergeant School (US Army) on our two year wedding anniversary last year (July 8). We celebrated our anniversary AND my 24th Birthday with a trip to Myrtle Beach after he graduated DS school on August 2nd. We had a wonderful trip with plenty of time at the beach, the Aquarium, a show at the theater, and lots of seafood eating. It was a blast!

What a great idea!

My favourite memory is my 15th birthday, my boyfriend (now husband) and best friend threw me a surprise birthday party and all my “bestest” friends were there! We had a great night!

After leaving our Wedding reception, my wife and I were heading to our hotel (1/2 hour drive away), in a small Ontario town. As we approached a T intersection between the 2 towns, there were police lights. Ride check is what we assumed. But it turned out to be an accident blocking all roads. The police officer lean into the car and said “oh, we need to get you two by this accident” (my new wife still wearing her wedding dress and me in my tux), so he proceeds to direct us through 2 or 3 backyards to bypass the accident. Weird and wacky.

One of my favorite birthday memories was riding to the bowling alley when I was in elementary school with my friends. We had to keep a fireball in our mouths for however long we could the entire way there without talking. The person who kept it in the longest won. That was a lot of laughing.

My favorite birthday memory was actually going up to New York to visit my boyfriend on my birthday. He was at work, and I had told him how I had gone to my family’s house for the weekend, but they didn’t get me a birthday cake. He responds with a shocked expression: “What?! They didn’t get you a cake?!” I didn’t let it bother me too much. After he was finished with work, we went to his and his family’s house. I was in a separate room when he called me into the kitchen. I went out, and there was a cake that he had made before he had even gone to work–before we had even spoken about me not having a cake! It was a wonderful surprise as he sang me “Happy Birthday.” It was the best birthday I’ve had so far! :-)

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but a good one was in 2005 at Camp and my friends woke me up extra early to go on a scavenger hunt around the dorm searching for presents, leading me to getting ready in the morning and to work where I was bombarded with silly string and cake all before 7am!

My favorite anniversary was my 1 year wedding anniversary. Danielle and I went to Charleston, SC for a 3 day weekend. It was beautiful and our favorite part of the weekend was taking a horse & carriage tour around the city. :)

My favorite birthday was this past year when my amazing girlfriend, Alex, took me out to dinner and made it the most special birthday of my life.

Pam Wright - May 27, 2009 - 10:31 pm

my favorite birthday memory was when i turned 21. i’d never had a birthday party before. so 6 of my closest friends took me to my favorite restaurant. they had each picked stones… Read More with words on them like faith, hope, love, believe, dream, & joy. they each told a story about why they picked that word for me and then prayed for me. sounds so simple but was seriously sweet!

My favorite anniversary ever was spending my one year “dating” (sorry- it’s not wedding yet) with my Mr. Wonderful. We spent the weekend in his hometown in North Carolina just being together and away from work. We went to dinner at a nice restaurant and talked about our dreams and how the Lord brought us together in the crazy way he did. After dinner- we went for a surprise carriage ride– but the real surprise came about 15 minutes later when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife in the middle of a quaint little North Carolina hometown!!! Best anniversary so far!!!

My favorite anniversary memory was our first year’s anniversary–we are both adventurous and picked a spot to camp for a week where we could climb Mt. Rogers (highest peak in VA). Half way up the mountain the weather began to turn, when we reached the summit, we clicked a picture and rain came…and along with it came thunder and lightning. We weathered a portion of the storm in a cave, and when the storm passed we continued down–still raining though. We were soaked, our boots were filled! The rain stopped the moment we reached the bottom of the mountain, the sun came out, and we moved on to our next adventure.

[...] does all this have to do with anything? Well, when I was engaged I attended a party that my friend Brittany threw. It was an Uppercase Living party. I loved it! Uppercase living is a fantastic company that [...]
